‘We are willing to work together for a shared future’

Zingaling Khamti, October 8 (MExN): Council of Naga Affairs (CNA), Eastern Nagaland, Myanmar today lauded the Government of Nagaland, Naga Hoho, and all other Naga civil society organizations based in India for warmly receiving Gamwa Tangshang (Zaw Wint Phyo), a CNA delegate during the trip to India to meet with “fellow brethren” living across the border.

At the same time, the CNA leadership expressed apology for not being able to join the trip as the leadership has been entrusted to draft the Naga Memorandum for Panglong Union Peace Conference convened by the NLD Government in Myanmar.

A press release from CNA President, Athong Makury and General Secretary, Naw Aung Sann, stated that the CNA leadership is “immensely grateful to learn about the fruitful discussions with our delegate during a short visit. We strongly hope and pray that the Almighty, who has never failed, will continue to guide us and bring us together one day and CNA discerns this trip is a step forward set by God to bring all His promised children under one roof soon. Thus, God-written history has always proved to us the Nagas that we cannot be separated by the alien forces that are trying heaven and earth to distort our unique history, culture and origin.”

It added, “CNA is strongly convinced with prayer that Nagas across the borders will remain vigil and faithful with God's guidance against the evil forces, and show that we will not fall short of God's promise.”

“CNA is convinced that Naga Hoho is the parental body for all the Naga CSOs and we are willing to work together for a shared future,” it further stated. “As we pray for the unity among us, we hope that we will be able to overcome the present turmoil of disunity and disassociation from each other.”
