Dimapur | April 13
In a wonderful gesture, the officials and team of Child Help Foundation, Dimapur Branch in partnership with NCHD-IT visited Ebenezer Home, an orphanage for less privileged children located at Indisen Colony, Dimapur. To mark the occasion and observance of “Good Friday and Easter Sunday”, the visit was held under the theme “We Care For You”.
During the interactive session, Yashimela Lemtor, Executive Director of NCHD-IT described how the Child Help Foundation, Dimapur Branch had previously visited Ebenezer Home with the purpose of letting the team experience firsthand the reality of how the less privileged children are facing in their day-to-day lives. This was an eye-opener for many of our team members and it left a big impact and the feeling of wanting to be of some help to these children, she said. “We discussed and agreed that we would visit the children of Ebenezer Home once again on the occasion of Good Friday and Easter Sunday and also mainly to show them that we care and love them,” she stated.
She further highlighted that the NGO has organized Child Support Programs and Youth Empowerment Programs across India and the Northeast. Child Health Foundation has previously assisted in raising health care funds for 15 children from India and one from the Northeast. Presently, the NGO has been approached for health care and treatment of an underprivileged child from Nagaland and is in the process of raising funds for this purpose.
Kesonyu Yhome, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur who was the chief guest also extended his thankfulness to NCHD-IT and Child Help Foundation for reaching out to less privileged children in the society.
Addressing the children of Ebenezer Home, he began by asking, “Will you dream big for me?” In an inspiring message, he told the children that the big personalities and leaders in the world all came up from nothing. “Hence, low socio-economic circumstances should never be a hindrance and that there is always a future and purpose for all of us- and that future only ‘You’ can control,” he added.
“Today you have mentors and caretakers in your lives, but there will be a time and moment in your life when you alone will have to decide the fate in your lives, so I urge all of you be strong and determined. Think about a big dream, but also remember to be a good human being. Because in today’s world there are so many problems and there are barely any good human beings. So, I urge all of you to grow up to be righteous, respectful, and upright human beings. People should be blessed because of your lives,” he stated.
“And don’t think I’m speaking ambitious things for you all – I’m speaking from my own experience and things I’ve seen around me. I hope this memory lasts with you for your lifetime, he concluded.
The program was chaired by S.Lithungo Lotha, Executive Team Leader, Child Help Foundation. Prayer Song was led by the children of Ebenezer Home with vote of thanks presented by Akum, Director of Ebenezer Home. Gift were also distributed courtesy of the Child Help Foundation, Dimapur Branch.
