‘We have to be different to serve God’

Kohima | May 31 : Kohima Bible College (KBC) observed Class of 2011 graduation day today at the college premise with Rev. Moa Longchari, Pastor Baptist Mission Church as graduation speaker. Altogether 34 B.Th students and 10 M. Div students graduated and received the recognition this afternoon. Rev. Longchari exhorted the congregation on the theme “Serving Lord with a difference”, saying ‘we’ cannot live with the same principal that people live with and urged to pray for ‘your’ enemies as “We cannot live with the same principal that people live with, we have to be different in life to serve God”.
Pointing out three principals to uphold, Rev Longchari said as a servant of God, sacrifice is the key factor for you (graduates) and your ministry. He stated that sacrifices will benefit others and that is the moment the difference in serving Lord will be felt. Rev Moa also maintained that knowing the truth makes a person to serve boldly and to make a difference in life one has to be bold putting in more to serve the Lord richly.
He alleged that begging for donations by various churches and ministries only promotes corruption and encourages people to steal and urged the congregation to keep their feet on the ground, be it church or bible colleges proving our richness with love and care for people. “Nothing is sweeter than tears of happiness and nothing is bitter than tears of regret”, said Rev Longchari, while challenging the graduates to be prepared to sacrifice with confident and to have a heart of love.
Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo also urged the graduates to sacrifice for the sake of gospel and to be faithful to Lord wherever they are placed to serve Lord. He encouraged the graduates to be an international preacher as the fellowship and unity remains, ushering them through prayers. Rev. Neihulie Memorial award (founder of KBC and highest honorary award of the college with student excellence in Academic) was awarded to Z. Nyamongi Odyuo in M.Div and Kenyule Kent of B.Th.
Siedzelenuo M.div, Vesühü vero and Rokhovile Pienyü (both B.Th), was awarded Rev. David Nunn memorial award which is an award of excellence in the area of Field ministries. Rev. CB Anderson memorial award (excellence in the area of Practical theology and Christian maturity) was awarded to Khruvota M.Div, Shaopen Phom and Sangtam Khaba of B.Th while Presidents’ award (students with outstanding in old testament) was awarded to Z. Nyamongi Odyuo M.Div and Kenyule Kent of B.Th.
The principals’ award (student with outstanding achievement in New Testament) was awarded to Z. Nyamongi Odyuo of M.Div and Elisha of B.Th. Earlier the programme was chaired by Ramyaiphy Zimik, lecturer KBC while Zaseyi Veswüh campus chaplin pronounce invocation. Nyamongi spoke on behalf of the graduating students while Abeiü Neihulie President, Board of Directors initiated presentation of the 2011 awards. Mezhülenuo Miachieo presented special number while presentation of Class of 2011 and dedication prayer was performed by Rev.Zotuo Kichu.
