Peren, March 30 (MExN): Thanksgiving and felicitation programme for Deputy Chief Minister, TR Zeliang was held at his private residence in Jalukie town, Peren district on March 30. 

Addressing the gathering, Zeliang said, “We have fought a good fight” and acknowledged all the people and well-wishers who have worked and helped him win the election.

The office of the Dy CM, Planning & National Highway in a press release said that while citing instances of bloodshed in some constituencies, he expressed his gratefulness that 7 Peren AC did not have any incidents of violence. “This I believe is only through the prayer support of many people,” he stated.

While thanking NDPP Party functionaries, Zeliang said “This win is not my own but it is our win and I dedicate this victory to each and every one of you.”

“As an elected leader, I understand that people have many expectations from me and I will, on my part, try my best to accomplish in whatever little ways that I can but at the end of the day, I am only human and will not be able to please each and every individual desires. But I will continue with my mission and vision with your support to develop in all areas that we lack behind,” he assured. Zeliang also thanked his media team, various media houses

Earlier, the programme commenced with invocation by Rev Dr Rabi Pame followed by introductory speech by Iherie Ndang, Ex-NDPP candidate who joined hands with TR Zeliang during the 2023 election. 

The programme was moderated by Ngautube Chamlak and Esther Pamei and presentation was led by Hanggau N Hau. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Hupun Zeliang, blessing for the newly elected MLA from 7 AC was pronounced by Rev Izieteilung Terieng. The event also witnessed songs and choreography by artists like Matu & Team, Vivi, Ntuma Male Voice and Bamyile, the release stated.
