‘We have to reject reservation’

Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Naga Hoho, President, Keviletuo Kiewhuo today came down heavily on the demands of reservation in government jobs and women reservation and said, “In reservation, there is lack of competition and the society wouldn’t prosper and not progress, rather left behind in all activities.” According to a press note received here, he also said that “we have to reject reservation” and in order to prosper and progress in the society, adding there should be the spirit of competitiveness.

He was speaking at the induction ceremony of the new office bearers of Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) on Saturday at APO hall. He stressed on the need to think globally and act locally, one need to introspect whether the changing world scenario is affecting our society or not.  “We need to tackle the globally phenomenon locally,” he asserted.

The president also maintained that youths are the cream of society, give your best to the society and the society will give you back and what you can do something to the people. During your prime youth age are you are mentally, physically and accessibly prepared what to do for the society, he added. Further, he challenged the youths to play active role in moulding and shaping the society to a better place to live in.

He also opined that NAYO is a social organization, stating that the people should be aware of what the organization  is doing for, rather NAYO  should not be knocked at the times difficulty and trouble, but people should also feels that NAYO is working  for the betterment of the society.

Peter Rutsa is new president of NAYO

NAPO President Vilie-o Rutsa urged upon the old and new teams and all the youths of Northern Angami to work together   and cohesively in the years ahead. Earlier in his presidential address, NAYO President Khriengulie Theiinuo informed that there are 31 recognized villages under Northern Angami areas, of which 26 villages are affiliated unit of NAYO. NAYO general secretary Keneingusa Riipreo and NAYO treasurer Neiphrelhoulie Keyho gave a brief reports for the tenure 2010-2013. The function was chaired by Kethosituo Mepfuo, press secretary NAYO, invocation prayer was given by Rev. Pelhousehu Belho, pastor Khedi Baptist Church and a special number was presented by Rusoma Village Youth Organization.

Dr. Kevi Rio, chairman announced the names of new office bearers NAYO for 2013-2016  with Peter Rutsa –President,  Roko Angami-Vice President, Kekhrie Pfukha-General Secretary, Vilavotuo Kire-Joint secretary, Kruso Chiese-Treasurer, Vichulie Yano-finance secretary, Er. Pekruzetuo Yase-Property secretary, Kevilhousa Kense-socio – cultural secretary,  Keneingusa Riipreo- statistical secretary, Rukravolie Rulho-press secretary, Vihielieii Suokhrie and Ruokuomenuo Miario-women coordinators and Khriengulie Theiinuo-Advisor. Rev. Pelhousehu Belho, pastor Khedi Baptist Church offered dedicatory prayer for the new team.

In his address newly in-coming President Peter Rutsa urged upon all for full cooperation and support and to work together with the new NAYO team. The vote of thanks was proposed by Kruso Chiese, statistical secretary NAYO.
