Wearing face masks made compulsory in public places, markets of Dimapur 

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): Wearing of face mask in public places and markets has been made compulsory in Dimapur. The advisory issued by the DC Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS on July 14, however, did not mention the date from which the order will come into effect.

The DC Dimapur has advised the general public of Dimapur to take the preventive and precautionary measure against the spread of Covid-19 within the district. Since Dimapur is witnessing a low percentage of ‘COVID-19 BOOSTER DOSE’ vaccination, the public are encouraged to get vaccinated with the Covid-19 Booster Dose. “This can be availed at the District Hospital Dimapur and other Government Health Units within the District,” the DC stated. 

Social, cultural, sports, political, religious, entertainment, academic functions and all other kinds of public gatherings are requested to observe COVID-19 appropriate behaviour such as wearing of face mask, sanitizing of hands, sanitizing the premises and ensure social distancing. “All shop owners under Dimapur District are directed to arrange facilities for hand sanitization and sanitization of their shop premise,” the DC added. 

This measure has been taken in view of the surge of COVID-19 cases within the Country.
