Dimapur, July 10 (MExN): The Department of Economics, St Joseph University, Dimapur organized a webinar on ‘application of statistical tools in social science research’ with resources person, Dr S Sangeetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, AVVM Pushpam College Poondi, Tamil Nadu on July 10.
A press release from the university stated that the resource person highlighted the importance of statistical tools in social science research to draw conclusions in various economic problems. She added statistics is a branch of science that deals with analysis interpretation explanation presentation of data from the sample respondents. Further, she spoke about the use of parametric and non-parametric test in different situations in social science research to communicate research findings and to prove or disprove a hypothesis by giving credibility to research methodology.
The programme was chaired by Senolu Sapuh (MA 2nd Semester), invocated by Imtimongla Jamir, Welcome address was delivered by Jepito Chophy. There was a special appearance by Mr. Imsuwapang Salong (MA 2nd Semester), which was followed by a brief introduction of the Resource person and other dignitaries by Dr J Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. It concluded with vote of thanks by Rowland S and benediction from Yangerjungla.
