Team Decepticons, the the overall champion of the 48th Patkai Sports Meet.
Patkai, November 5 (MExN): The week-long 48th Patkai Sports Meet concluded in Patkai on November 4, with Team Decepticons emerging as the overall champion, securing 541 points.
Predacons secured the second position with 461 points, closely followed by the Maximals with 460 points.
Grimlock and Ultra Magnus scored 428 and 355 points, respectively, while Alpha Trion secured 315 points.
The ‘Best Discipline House’ honour was awarded to Grimlock.
Meanwhile, Maximals took home the coveted March-Past trophy, sponsored by Major General Vikas Lakhera, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North).
The last day of the week-long sports meet witnessed the exciting final matches of men’s cricket, basketball, and football at the Pataki Christian College (PCC) Autonomous ground.
It also saw the culmination of the men’s and women’s tug of competition. The winning teams from both categories later competed with the men’s and women’s faculty and staff, respectively.
Another highlight of the event was the women’s football exhibition match and a men’s football exhibition match between executives of the PCC Students’ Union and faculty & staff.
At the closing ceremony, hosted by SUPCC General Secretary Hantula Quinker, a short speech was delivered by the Dean of Students, Wetshete Thopi, followed by the presentation of medals and trophies to the winners.
The Games and Sports Secretary, PGSWC, Kipibo Z Kappo, conveyed his gratitude to every individual who made the six-day event a success.
The ceremony concluded with a college community dinner.
