With trainers from the Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) and Kohima District Volleyball Association (KDVA), a weeklong football and volleyball coaching camp, organized by the Tuophema Village Youth and Sports Organisation (TVYSO), began on Monday at Tuophema Village.

Over 70 participants from the village, aged 10 years and above registered for the camp.

Addressing the gathering ahead of the first session, NFCA p0resident Roko Angami, encouraged the players to be disciplined, maintain a healthy diet and be respectful to elders.

As it depends upon an individual to become a good player, he said that the skills required to become a good player cannot be purchased or taken from someone else.

While there may be many good players, he said that not every good player gets selected to be played on bigger platforms. However, he encouraged the players to be professional and passionately pursue their game of interest.

As good players go on to become good leaders, he advised the participants to be sincere and not to miss out on any training sessions.

With over 70 members under NFCA, he informed that various training sessions have been conducted across the districts.

He lauded TVYSO for conducting football and volleyball coaching at the grassroot level.

TVYSO president, Vikeduo, informed that the camp is conducted with the aim to promote sports among the locals.

As the focus is to train young players, he challenged the players to make the best use of the opportunity given to them.
KDVA president Visasielie Suohu, hoped that this camp will mark a beginning towards promoting sports.

While the players will skill-up in their respective field of sport within a short span of time, he encouraged them to continue practicing all the lessons learned even after the completion of the coaching.

As he lauded the TVYSO and assured them of the KDVA’s support even in the days to come.
