“Maybe we’re all different but we’re still the same
We all got the blood of Eden running through our veins
I know, sometimes it’s hard for you to see
You’re caught between just who you are and who you want to be
If you feel alone and lost and need a friend
Remember every new beginning is some beginning’s end.
Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life; you made it this far
Welcome, you got to believe
That right here, right now
You’re exactly where you are supposed to be
Welcome to wherever you are.
When everybody’s in and you are left out
And you feel you’re drowning in the shadow of a doubt
Everyone’s a miracle in their own way
Just listen to yourself, not what other people say
When it seems you’re lost, alone and feeling down
Remember, everybody’s different; just take a look around
Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life; you made it this far
Welcome, you got to believe
That right here, right now
You’re exactly where you are supposed to be
Welcome to wherever you are
Be who you want to be
Be who you are
Everyone’s a hero
Everyone’s a star
When you want to give up and your heart’s about to break
Remember that you’re perfect; GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES
Welcome to wherever you are
This is your life; you made it this far
Welcome, you got to believe
That right here, right now
You’re exactly where you are supposed to be
Welcome to wherever you are”
Original lyrics! Not mine though. It’s from Bon Jovi’s new album, ‘Have a nice day’. The song runs in the player as I sit to write. Brother, mom and I were driving back home a while ago; I was listening to the CD. The setting seemed right out from a movie. The sun was setting. The whole city looked orange....the vehicles on the busy road seemed like little hot wheels. I couldn’t hear anything, except for the song which was blasting in the headphones. I wasn’t actually paying attention to the lyrics. Until the words ‘GOD MAKES NO MISTAKE’ caught my attention. I was like ‘whoa! Stop there’. My right hand quickly grabbed the CD cover. I had to check the lyrics out. I did. And I couldn’t help but think of all the times I felt void.....
Yea, all of us feel void at some point, somehow. I know I often do. It could be about someone doing better than you in something, it could be about not getting through an exam, it could be about not getting a chance in something you tried so hard for, it could be about your friend betraying you, it could be about your parents getting a divorce, it could be about your child falling into drugs, it could be about the other millions of reason that we are made to feel what we feel.
Who says it’s easy to look up when all you have is downhill? It’s not at all easy. But then, here is the saving grace I look up to: Wherever we are today, no matter in what condition, we are HERE because GOD MAKES NO MISTAKE. It’s nice to think in a sense that everything happens for a reason, for the better, to make us stronger through the circumstance. Sure, many times we feel that God has forsaken us. But, no, we are wrong. Remember, GOD MAKES NO MISTAKE. It’s a debatable topic and so for once let’s just put a full stop here. It’s just a thought that is in my mind, just a thought I feel for.
Are people talking behind your back? Are people saying that you are not alright? Did someone just push you off the tip you were working on? Do you feel hopeless? Worthless? Angry... Here is your golden ticket. Read the lyric above again and I am not at all kidding. You are wiser than me and I know you’ll see through the words and experience the feel-good-factor. I suppose you knew from the start what it is all about. It’s almost a cliché we hear everyday in one form or the other. But then, what’s the harm to be reminded again? No harm done. Just a thought you and I will realize and smile.
‘SHARE’ your blessing, they say. I just did. The song got me to look back and see how much I have come off my void. It has also made me see the other good things, which have come to me, in a better perspective. Today I am exactly where I am supposed to be. Of course, my life isn’t perfect but then where does it say that everything has to fall in perfect place to have a happy life?? Everything will come your way....even if it means slowly...and unexpectedly. I am learning exactly like that :) So I guess I might as well say to you, “Welcome to wherever you are”.
