DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 14 (MExN): West Zone defeated North Zone by 25 runs to win the IDFC FIRST Bank Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima on November 14.
Batting first, West Zone posted a total of 169/4 in their allotted overs. North Zone began the chase needing 170 runs but fell short, ending the match 25 runs behind the target.
Humairaa Kaazi (West Zone) claimed the Player of the Match award for a brilliant knock of 58 runs off 44 balls, playing a crucial role in her team’s win.
The organisers noted that North Zone reached the finals after a strong run in the tournament, showing consistency and teamwork throughout. Their performance in the final was described as reflecting “true fighting spirit,” marking them as deserving finalists.
West Zone, who dominated with both bat and ball, lifted the trophy following what was described as a campaign marked by power, discipline, and control in key moments.
Earlier, the trophy for the tournament was unveiled at the venue by Devajit Lon Saikia, Secretary of the BCCI.
