CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MAY 31 (MExN): The Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) has issued a public appeal urging urgent action and public cooperation in locating 19-year-old Pesha Khiamniungan, a Class 11 student of United Christian Higher Secondary School, Diphupar, who has been missing since the afternoon of May 24.
An official First Information Report was registered at Diphupar Police Station on May 28. According to the report, Pesha left home around 1:00 PM on Saturday to meet friends but never returned. He was last seen riding a red scooty with the registration number AS-12-G-6685, and his mobile phone has been unreachable since that evening.
Despite continued efforts by the family and involvement of the police, the youth front said there has been no progress in tracing his whereabouts, raising “growing concern, not just for the family but for the wider community.” WNYF urged the Nagaland Police, particularly Diphupar Police Station, to “deploy all necessary resources, including cyber tracing and surveillance” to help secure the boy’s safe return.
The group also appealed to residents, youth groups, and civil society organizations across Chümoukedima and Dimapur to report any information or sightings that could help locate him. Local media houses were requested to amplify the case in the interest of public safety and child protection.
“The safety of every young person in our society must be a collective responsibility,” the WNYF stated, appealing to the public to assist with any leads and remain alert to the growing number of missing children cases in the state. The family may be contacted at 8730842694 or 7085843044.
