Dimapur, May 24 (MExN): A special prayer service for new team of office bearers, executive members and members of frontal organisations of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) was held on May 24 at the mission centre of Western Sumi Baptist Churches Association (WSBAK), Akuvuto Thahekhu.
Rev. Dr. Hevukhu Achumi, executive secretary, WSBAK who led the prayer along with other staff of WSBAK quoted scriptures of 1st Samuel 9:15-16, 2nd Chronicles 19:6-7 and also from the book of 2nd Kings and called upon the members present to put God above everything else in their leadership stating that one cannot be a leader without God’s blessing.
He encouraged the members of the Western Sumi Hoho to fulfill the responsibility that the people have entrusted upon them by fearing God and being righteous and by being truthful and adhering to what is right.
Also speaking on the occasion, the newly elected WSH president, Zheshito Swu called upon his colleagues to work together as team for peace, unity and upliftment of Sumis in particular and Naga people in general.
Exhorting and greeting the new team of WSH, Y. Isawoto Zhimomi, president, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho and H.K. Zhimomi, reminded the members to endeavour for the welfare and interest of the people in adherence to the constitution of the Hoho and not for the motive of self – interest.
The service was chaired by L. Khevishe Achumi, vice president, WSH and recorded by Vikato K. Achumi, general secretary, WSH. Rev. Ahokhe Awomi, evangelist, WSBAK said the invocation prayer of the service while Hojevi Kappo, secretary, Music WSBAK and friends presented a song.
