Western Sumi Kukami Hoho general session held

Dimapur, July 29 (MExN): The Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) held its 17th general session on July 29 at Agri Expo, Dimapur with N. Jacob Zhimomi, Parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation & Flood Control gracing the occasion as chief guest.  

Addressing a large gathering of village chiefs including officials of Nagaland GBs’ Federation and Dimapur District GBs’ Association, the chief guest challenged the GBs to be front runners of brotherhood, peace and unity among Naga people reminding them that they, as leaders of the people have vast and significant responsibility to lead the people towards progressive society.  

Jacob called upon the GBs to humble themselves and to have sincere approach in their leadership as village chiefs thereby setting good example for the villagers who would emulate their leaders. He also urged the GBs to inculcate work culture in the minds of the younger generation.  

On the developmental aspects, Jacob told the gathering that Nagaland government led by Chief Minister T. R. Zeliang was consolidating its efforts to reach developmental activities to people at the village level, and for which, Jacob said, government requires utmost cooperation of the people.  

A press release stated that president of Nagaland GBs’ Federation exhorted the gathering. Azheto Zhimomi, former MLA also graced the programme. S. Vihuto Yepthomi was elected as president for the ensuing tenure of the hoho along with Mughavi Awomi as vice president and Kuhovi Zhimomi as general secretary.  Delivering a short speech, Vihuto spelled out his desire to work for the welfare of the society. The former councilor of Dimapur Municipal Council said hoho is for the people and therefore urged cooperation of all concerned for WSKH to achieve greater strides.  

Outgoing president Y. Isawoto Zhimomi,  who chaired the programme also spoke on the occasion. Ilitoli Ayemi,  associated youth pastor, Sovima Sumi Baptist Church presented a song. Rev. Shikuho Zhimomi, Director of Mission and Evangelism, WSBAK invoked God’s blessing through a prayer. Shikuto Zalipu, advisor WSKH proposed vote of thanks.
