‘What builds peace can build respect’

Dimapur, January 29 (MExN): Speaking to the gathering of institutional heads and teachers of various schools in Dimapur, Razia Ismail Abbasi, Co- Convener, India Alliance for Children’s Rights said ‘what builds peace can build respect’. A press release issued by the Peace Channel Desk added that she was speaking to the gathering on the subject ‘Learning to Live Together’ during the Consultative Workshop with the Heads of the Institutions in Dimapur as the keynote speaker on January 29. Razia said that the teachers are the biggest change makers in the world. They mould the young minds into what they would be in future. It is therefore their ethical duty to teach what is right or wrong in living together. Speaking further, she said that the peace channel activities should aim at creating alternative way forming the children into peace builders.
The consultative workshop was organized to strategize the peace channel activities in educational institutions in Dimapur during the year 2011. Mynthungo Oduyo, District Programme Coordinator, chaired the proceedings workshop.  Other proceeding included welcome address by Atoholi Shohe, briefing on the activities of Peace Channel by Dorothy Humtsoe and Strategic Planning Session by Jiji Joseph. The meeting was attended by 22 participants including teachers and peace channel officials.
