
Peren, July 8 (MExN): The Whole Jalukie Village Council Consultative meeting was held on July 8 in the residence of Kumui Nring, Chairman Jalukie Pumling Nko, Jalukie Town.
The meeting deliberated on agendas regarding the COVID-19 issue in the district and adopted resolutions on the same.
Regarding the designated COVID-19 hospital at CHC Jalukie town, the members resolved to disallow shifting of the hospital to any other place, “nor any machinery or equipments to be relocated at any cost.”
The house also decided to endorse full cooperation in the events of any necessities that may arise to set up a new COVID-19 hospital in any part of the district.
It further resolved to ban any organisation from holding any kind of activity that may provoke the peaceful co-existence of the public. “Such act will be strictly prohibited within the land of Jalukie without prior permission and consent from the concerned land owner,” it stated.
Considering the reported unruly behaviour by returnees in some quarantine centres, the meeting resolved that returnees hailing from the subscribed villages under Old Jalukie Village will be strictly dealt with by the respective village council as per the law of the land with penalty of three years banishment along with the family members in the events of any breach of SOP set by the Government/absconding from the quarantine centre.
The Whole Jalukie Village Council comprising of 14 subordinate councils further decided to extend all out support to the Government from the sub-divisional level to the district level in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic to effectively manage the outbreak.
On delimitation
The house firmly resolved that implementation of delimitation in the district “should not jeopardize the aspiration of its people, the existing geographical and political harmony of our people and land.” In this regard, it resolved to seek their genuine rights through representation to the competent authority.
