Whole Nagaland has not been declared disturbed area: Patton

Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister (Home), Y Patton today informed that the whole of Nagaland has not been declared as a ‘disturbed area.”
He was replying to MLA Achumbemo Kikon’s starred question at the second session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) here today.

The jurisdiction of police stations in Nagaland which do not fall under the purview of AFSPA include Chiephobozou PS (Kohima district), Tseminyu PS (Tseminyu district), Wokha PS, Sanis PS and Sungro PS under Wokha district,  Mokokchung PS-II, Kobulong PS and Changtongya PS under Mokokchung district, VK Town and Akuluto under Zunheboto district, Longleng  PS and Tamlu PS under Longleng district, Tuensang PS, Longkhim PS, Noksen PS and Sansungyu PS under Tuensang district, Shamator PS and Chessore PS under Shamator district.

On being asked about the progress of the construction of Ethung Post under Bhandari Sub Division, Patton assured the house that it will be completed before Christmas. He informed that there is no proposal at present to upgrade the Merapani Border Magistrate.
 
Amount received from GoI under Samagra prog
Minister Metsubo Jamir meanwhile informed the floor of the House that an amount of Rs. 13734.16 lakhs have been received from Government of India under Samagra programme for the year 2021-2022 and Rs 28104.49 lakhs during 2022-23.

He was replying to MLA Naiba Konyak’s starred question.

Jamir also told the House that the Government of India does not provide district-wise allocation of funds under Samagra Shiksha scheme.

86 villages covered under JJM in 40th Bhandari AC
PHED Minister Jacob Zhimomi further informed that 86 villagers are covered under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) under 40 Bhandari Assembly Constituency.

Replying to MLA Achumbemo Kikon’s question, the Minister informed that the works under JJM are executed through the Village Water & Sanitation (WATSAN) Committees/Contract and departmentally for laying pipes and fitting.

Further, he replied that urban areas are not covered under JJM.

Power and Parliamentary Affairs Minister KG Kenye, in his reply to the starred questions raised by Neiba Konyak, MLA, stated that there was no power line connectivity from Sangsangyu, Tuensang District to Tobu, Mon District at the moment.

He informed that the department would propose for inclusion of the 33kV line from Sangsangyu, Tuensang District to Tobu, Mon District with a sub-station at Tobu in the next financial Year 2024-25 under State Plan.
