Next time you vote, whom are you voting for? Are you thinking, you have voted the wrong people to power? Have you put your trust to the wrong people? Have you given your rights to the wrong people? Well, keep the answers to yourselves. Everything has its time and general election is once again just around the corner. I assume, by the end of 2017, you will have your clear answer whom to vote for in the 2018 general election. We cannot help but we are going to end up having a bad five years of governance. Presently, we cannot really do anything because we have “sold our votes”. What we can really do is learn from our mistakes and wait patiently for the next election ‘not to sale our votes’ but cast a democratic vote for five years plan and not for few thousand rupees. Simple answer to the change we are seeking now lies in the coming election. So, chose the right person to represent your rights, your voices and who can stand for your injustices and exploitations.
I was wondering, how could our leaders cheat and fool the people so much, than my Scripture showed me in 1 Timothy 6:10, ‘the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil’ so my calculation came to a simple conclusion that since they desire and lust for more and more wealth and money they have all kinds of evil ways to cheat the people.
Dear representatives, I have no personal grudges and enmity with anyone but as a concern citizen it pains my heart looking at the present scenario of our state. With this pace and governance the general innocent public are going nowhere. So dear leaders “change or be changed”, if you do not change yourselves, you will be changed very soon. Sorry my dear good leaders, I do not condemn you but I condemn the evils that are eating u up and making you blind which you are not conscious of. Your innocent voters are suffering yet you do not see them. It is true that though one can see, they can still be blind, as the old proverbs goes, “A true blind person is not one who cannot see but one who chooses not to- Unknown”.
Dear voters, you are the victims today, so will not the next election a time to show our resentment and annoyance over the injustices done to us? Will not the next election a time to show the change we need? Will not the next election a time to show that we need a better, sincere and truthful people to lead us? We are late indeed but never too late to start afresh something worthwhile. We are been looted, our wealth drained, our voices unheard, our sufferings and pains unseen, we are exploited and our today is shattered yet, we live for tomorrow, so next time you vote, vote to elect your representatives and not a dictator. Vote for a five years development and good governance and not for money. Otherwise our children tomorrow will suffer worst than us. “Either way we die so better stand for right than to die silent”. God bless Nagaland.
