It is a common understanding that, the Naga Hoho is engaged with some Political Party for Peace process which is understandable but on the other hand they failed to voice for the common Nagas . Tribal Hoho of Naga Areas had send them to represent the Nagas in general . There are a few instances why the Naga Hoho is silent.
1. For instance recently some armed group set up their camp chasing away the villagers in Merapani Area under Wokha district but the villagers bravely fought and claimed their village back.
2. On Feb, 2012 a mother of two was raped in front of her husband who was tied up by four illegal immigrants. In this regard, under the aegis of Naga council all the 19 tribes representatives under Naga council and Naga Women Hoho, DNSU, G.B Union decided to open Public Action committee(PAC) and launched a campaign in and around Dimapur to check the continuous influx of illegal immigrants. Reason, all the commercial, economic and daily labours are controlled by the illegal immigrants including kidnapping, raping, drug- peddlers and all illegal activities are being done by them. In this regard we fear that even our political rights may be controlled by them. Like in Assam today. The Naga council Dimapur, which is a mass based organisation is affiliated to Naga Hoho but unfortunately the parent body is/were never concerned about the burning issue nor present to inquire about the latest scenario and to boost the morale of the Council.
3. In connection with the Kokhrajhar incident in Assam recently, more than 13 students from North-east were beaten up. The Naga Hoho being an apex body failed to voice about the welfare and well being of our people.
4. Recently in Assam near Marani two Naga women were brutally murdered yet the Hoho remained a mute spectator . We are not asking the Hoho to indulge in any political party or any other activities but being a body of Naga representative they should at least voice their concern for the people of our land.
5. At present, the roads of Nagaland as well as electricity are in a very pitiable condition. Some concerned groups have exhibited the prevailing conditions of the state (which in this regard has been a noble step taken by them and should be applauded), in order to wake the government and to take up their responsibilities . It does not mean that the Hoho should participate criticising the Government but it is their prime duty to solve the problems in a noble way for a noble cause and for the interest of the Nagas.
6. The Government of Karnataka has arranged special trains to evacuate more than 6,000 people from the North-east who are fleeing. What step is the Hoho taking and are they sending their representatives to the concerned authorities and what are the next steps to be taken?
We want to question the Hoho to openly clarify whether they are part of FNR or a spectator?
Therefore the present Naga Hoho office bearers should resign in mass on moral grounds or instead only shout HoHoHoHoHo.........
