Why prices are not down despite removal of check-gates? CNTC poses

Dimapur, June 9 (MExN): While lauding the State Government for the removal the check-gates, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) today wondered why prices of essential commodities have not come down yet.

Likewise, when fuel prices have also come down, prices of all goods are yet to come down and there seems to be no respite for the common people, the council added in a press release.

It further maintained that while levying of taxes on transporting agencies and goods vehicles at multiple check-gates were said to be the main cause of price escalation, prices were not down despite their removal.

To this end, the CNTC urges the State government to immediately look into this matter and relieve the common public from the menace.
