DIMAPUR, MARCH 26 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) held a joint consultative meeting on March 26 and decided “not to allow conduct of ULB election until and unless the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001 is repealed.” A copy of the meeting resolution observed that the Act has “serious negative impact upon Article 371(A) of the Indian Constitution." Meanwhile, it stated that while the ENPO had conceded to participate in the recently held Nagaland assembly polls, following assurances by the Ministry of Home Affairs, “the agreement has not been signed till date.” It therefore resolved to adhere to its August 26, 2022 resolution not to participate in any election process of the state and central government until a solution as mutually agreed is reached with regard to the demand for Frontier Nagaland.
