Tseminyu, April 1 (MExN): The Rengma Selo Zi (RSZ) has expressed shock and dismay over the recent developments regarding the National Highway-2 project “where a group of land owners and contractors are having misunderstandings over the contract works on construction of culverts etc.”
A press statement from RSZ president, Kenneth Kath and general secretary, Shatilo Kent asserted that the Selo Zi “strongly objects and questions any disturbances in the smooth delivery of development activities in its jurisdiction and reaffirms its stand that it shall continue to express its resentment against any such elements.”
Maintaining that the quality of work should not and cannot be compromised regardless of whoever does the job, it assured that for the land beneficiaries if any due share is neglected the organization will join the fight with whomever it has been denied, but strongly discouraged any disturbances or stalling of the developmental activities for whatsoever reason.
The RSZ further appealed to all right thinking organizations and stakeholders to extend cooperation and an accommodative spirit towards creating a congenial environment for development to take place.
Meanwhile, the statement reminded that the RSZ “will not stand any hiccups or disturbances from any quarter on the execution of the development activities in its jurisdiction” and assured that it will extend “full and uncompromised cooperation” in the execution of developmental activities under its jurisdiction.
“The RSZ, as a voluntary organization committed to public welfare activities, continues to firmly stand for ushering better development and smooth implementation of development projects. But there is a burning need for mass participation of all mass based organizations to ensure that this mega project of development of NH-2 does not end up in the mess of vested interests,” the statement had read.
