‘Will resolve all differences shortly’

NSCN (R) President and General Secretary  address reports of 'split'

Dimapur, October 20 (MExN): Following speculations of a split in the NSCN (R), the group’s President Y Wangtin Naga and General Secretary P Tikhak on Wednesday issued a statement addressing the same.

“There may be minor differences within the party workers but we assure that we will do our best to resolve all the differences very shortly,” the NSCN (R) leaders stated.

They noted that it was ‘extremely disturbing’ that some of their leaders had gone public in expressing their resentment towards the party, and maintained that at a time when everyone is patiently waiting in prayer to see good and better days for the Nagas, “it is certainly not pleasant to our ears to hear of a new faction.”

Asserting that factionalism has killed the backbone of the Nagas economically, socially and politically,  the NSCN (R) stressed that it is certainly not a time to create new party and factions.

“… rather our focus should be to find out a political solution collectively and also to introspect in our past; where we have went wrong,” they maintained.

While admitting that differences do happen in every society, every institution and every family, they however said that the differences should not overcome the common goal. In this regard, they appealed all the Naga people not to feel disturbed but to help them in prayer to amicably resolve all issues.
