Newmai News Network Imphal | October 21 The People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA), a regional political party based in Manipur in its general council session on October 20 adopted a resolution that it will “set up” a common/consensus candidate in alliance with like-minded political parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. The PDA also resolved to “protect and ensure the democratic rights of the people” and to “preserve the identity and fulfil the aspirations of the ethnic indigenous people”. The party election for the tenure of 2018-2021 was also held at the sidelines of the session. L Seth and Ng Benithan were elected as the President and General Secretary respectively. While B Roland was elected as vice president, Aching Gonmei as Treasurer and NG Ngaoning as Auditor of the PDA. The members also resolved that other vacant posts and district level committees will be appointed at the earliest.
