After winning their individual titles at the ICN Bodybuilding Championship in New Delhi, the two Naga bodybuilders Toshiakum Ozükum, who secured the 1st Position (Gold) in Men’s Classic Physique (U-23) and Men’s Physique Category (U-23) and Champion, and Athrong Zeliang who clenched the 3rd in Street Model and 2nd in Men’s Physique categories, reached Dimapur Airport in the afternoon of July 13.

On arrival they were received by officials of the Nagaland Bodybuilding and Fitness Association along with their families and friends.

Speaking to media persons, Ozükum highlighted that the entire journey and process leading up to the competition took a lot of time, resources and effort to prepare. “I’m thankful that I could achieve something and yes it was worth the effort,” he said.

“I knew that the competition would be tough however I decided not to compare myself to the other competitors and just give it my best, hopefully I won the two gold medals,” he added.

He further stated that all the financial expenses were privately borne by his family, without any government expenses which amounted to over Rs 1 lakh including dieting and supplement in-take.

Moreover he noted that he had competed in the competition without the use of steroids and other enhancing drugs as he prioritised a healthy body above all else.

Besides these points, he admitted there is still a lot of room for self-improvement and would be planning to compete again in the near future.

Zeliang on the other had stated that since his childhood days he had been interested in body-building and fitness training. As such, with the personal help of his mentors and trainers he was able to achieve his titles.

He also disclosed that he would wish to compete in more competitions during the coming years as he wanted to dedicate all his time and efforts into fitness training.
