Wins for Nagaland women’s senior & U-19 teams

The Nagaland U-19 girls cricket team at Kaddapa in Andhra Pradesh after winning the first match of the one day trophy.
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 19 (MExN): It was a good day for women’s cricket in Nagaland as the State’s senior women’s team and its U-19 women’s team registered wins in their respective tournaments.
The Nagaland Women’s senior cricket team beat Arunachal Pradesh by 8 wickets in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy at Puducherry.
Choosing to bat first, Arunachal Pradesh were bowled out for 121 in 49.5 overs. Nabam with 33 runs
And B Ritu with 32 runs were their top scorers. Pankul from Nagaland took 3 wickets.
Nagaland managed to reach the target in just 23.1 overs scoring 125 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
Vaincy remained unbeaten at 64 runs while Nazma score 41 runs.
The two wickets for Arunachal were bagged by Jyoti and Mari.
Meanwhile in the Women’s U-19 One Day Trophy, Nagaland defeated Meghalaya by 90 runs.
Batting first, Nagaland managed to score 163 runs before being bowled out in 48.5 overs. Amita was Nagaland’s top scorer with 59 runs while Sapna scored 31 runs.
For Meghalaya, N Roy bagged 3 wickets while Sistilin and Manis took a couple of wickets each.
Meghalaya however were unable to reach the target as Nagaland bowled them out for just 73 runs in 22 overs.
Gunjan was the top bowler for Nagaland with 4 wickets, followed by Sapna and Swati who bagged a couple of wickets each.
