Wokha, January 11 (MExN): The Lancer CC and Phyolumo XI have successfully advanced to the semifinals of the 28th T20 Winter Cricket Challenge in Wokha by emerging victorious in their respective quarterfinal matches today.
In the first quarterfinal clash on January 10, Lancer CC set an imposing target of 186 runs for BBC CC in the allotted 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process.
Wahid Ali led the charge with an unbeaten 72, while contributions from Santosh (34), Moakumzuk (25), and Hayithung Ngullie (21) bolstered the total.
In response, BBC could only muster 95 runs before being bowled out in the 17th over.
Lancer’s Ali was adjudged the man of the match.
Phyolumo XI also amassed a substantial total of 178 runs for 7 wickets in the second quarterfinal against Rampage CC. Dipen Saharia (45), Longkumer (35), Nayan (25), and Chumdemo (22) were the leading run-scorers for the team.
Despite their efforts, Rampage failed to reach the target, and Phyolumo XI secured victory by 47 runs in the 20th over.
Dipen of Phyolumo XI was named the man of the match for his 45-run knock.
