DIMAPUR, JANUARY 11 (MExN): LCYO and Highlanders went through to the semi finals of the 28th Winter Cricket Challenge on January 11.
In the first match, LCYO CC won the toss and opted to bat first and set a target of 98 runs in 16.1 overs losing all the wickets with only 3 batsmen reaching the double figure mark. Renben Kikon (16), Epithung (15), Chenithung (19) and Thechamo Odyuo (11).
While chasing the target, Kohima Royals lost the match in 20 overs by 1 run losing all the wickets with only 3 batsmen reaching the double figure mark. Robin Patton (19), Mhonbemo Kithan (32) and Yankio (13). Thechamo Odyuo of LCYO CC was adjudged the man of the match for claiming 4 wickets and 11 runs while batting.
In the second match, Highlanders won the toss and they opted to bat first and set a target of 110 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 Overs. The top contributors were Jitu (31), Asif (21) and Mughavi (35). In the second innings while chasing the target, Elite CC failed to reach the target in 20 overs losing 9 wickets and Highlanders won the match by 13 runs in the 20th over. Top contributors for Elite CC were Imomemba (13), Sameer Ali and Zidu (15). Asif Highlanders was adjudged the man of the match for Scoring 21 runs and claiming 1 wicket while bowling.
