Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The 2nd edition of Winter Cup 2022 (Men’s Open Basketball Tournament) got underway at the 4th NAP Thizama Ground under the aegis of Orca Club.
Gracing the opening ceremony on December 19, Matsungshilu, Deputy Commandant, 4th NAP, stressed on the importance of games and sports which promote fitness as well as fosteringfriendship and unity among the youngsters.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Velavoi Kezo while Thejalezo Keyho administered oath to the participating teams.
The champion will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 while 2nd and 3rd position holders will get Rs 30,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively.
Altogether, 11 teams registered for the tournament. It will continue till December 21.
