Winter Snooker Open Challenge from December

Kohima, November 26 (MExN): The Cue Association of Nagaland (CAN) will be organising Winter Snooker Open Challenge from December 9 to 12 at Baulk Line Club and Club Area 51 in Kohima.

The champion will earn a cash prize of Rs 60, 000 while runner up will receive Rs 30, 000. The two losing semifinalists will get Rs 15, 000 each while the player with the highest break point will pocket Rs 10,000, the CAN informed.

The winter snooker tournament is an open competition for both men and women, and the game will be conducted on a best of three basis till quarter finals and on a ‘best of five’ basis from the semi-finals onwards.

The tournament's dress code will be formal while players will wear waist coat from quarter final rounds onwards. The competition will be conducted following necessary COVID-19 protocols, it added.

Interested players have been informed to collect the registration forms at the following snooker houses: Club 147 (Razhu Point), Atou Pool House (Old NST), Q Lounge (Super Market), Club Area 51 (Jail colony) and Baulk Line Club (Mohonkhola colony).

The registration fee has been priced at Rs 2,000 and last date of form submission is December 5, while the fixture will be drawn on December 7 at Baulk Line Club.
