With 42 new cases, Nagaland COVID-19 tally rises to 6,594

Nagaland on Monday reported 42 fresh COVID-19 cases and recovery of 113 people, taking the state's total number of confirmed cases to 6,594, a Health Department bulletin said.

The bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) indicated that the total number of active cases in the state now stands at 1,149 and recoveries at 5,371. 

Among the new cases, 30 were reported from Dimapur district, of which 19 were traced contacts, nine from armed forces/security personnel and two were returnees/travellers.

Kohima also reported four new cases from among traced contacts while eight of the cases were among armed forces/security personnel in Mon district.

Monday’s recovery cases were reported from Kohima with 73 while 40 were from Dimapur. 

As of 3:00 pm on October 5, the State had recorded 12 deaths while five cases were denoted as positive but not COVID-19 related deaths.

There are currently six deaths that are under investigation while 51 cases have migrated from the State.

As per the bulletin, 1,108 active cases are asymptomatic while 34 are mild symptomatic, six are moderate and one is severe.
