Imphal, April 5 (MExN): The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Manipur (ZSUM) has appealed the NSCN (IM) to withdraw the “arbitrary decision” of its Tatar Hoho to trifurcate the Zeliangrong people into three tribes – viz, Zeme, Liangmai, and Rongmei. “This unilateral decision of the Tatar Hoho on this matter is a direct challenge and insult to all the Zeliangrong apex and frontal organisations,” the ZSUM stated in a press release on Thursday. “The Zeliangrong people have absolute right to resolve its own differences within the family,” the ZSUM stated while charging the NSCN (IM) of “interference” and contending that the frontal organisations were not consulted prior to the decision. “Such act to the Zeliangrong family will have direct negative impact even to the Naga National Movement,” it added.
