Withholds salary of (ex) bodyguards failing to report: IGP (INT) directs 

Kohima, April 22 (MExN): The office of the Inspector General of Police (INT), Nagaland has directed the respective unit commanders to “withhold the pay/salary” of those personnel, whose services were as bodyguards attached to various VIPs were withdrawn earlier but the failed to report to parent units. 

As per a circular dated April 16  from the IGP (INT) to Commissioner of Police, Dimapur; Superintendent of Police in all districts and Commandants of different NAP Battalion at NAPTC, on recommendations of Threat Perception Committee and Home Department on March 28, bodyguards attached to various Ex- ministers/Advisors/MLAs/ Retired Bureaucrats/officials/Public leaders were withdrawn. 

The personnel were further directed to report to IGP (Int) Office for depositing arms and ammunitions issued to them on or before April 15 and report back to their respective parent units. 

However, the circular informed that a total of 118 personnel of various units and attached with 55 different ‘VIPs’ have failed to report to IGP (INT) office within the stipulated time.

 Accordingly, the IGP (INT) office directed the respective unit commanders to withhold the salary of the aforesaid personnel with “immediate effect and submit action taken report.”
