Wokha and Longsa villages to ensure peace

Wokha, March 18 (DIPR): A meeting of the District Administration, Superintendent of Police Wokha, members of the Lotha Hoho, Eloe Hoho and the Village Councils Chairman/GBs of Longsa and Wokha Village was held on March 15 at the DC conference hall, Wokha. During the meeting, discussions were initiated on the prevailing law and order situation in the district headquarter. After a thorough discussion, in which the members present expressed their views, the meeting resolved that the village councils of Longsa and Wokha Village would take all possible measures to ensure that activities such as destruction of property, road blockades, act of violence etc do not take place or that such acts of violence, illegal activities are perpetrated by any individual/organization or member of the village.

It was also resolved that the peaceful atmosphere which existed in the district prior to the Assembly Elections would be restored and that all stakeholders would do the utmost towards this end. The village councils also assured the administration that they would continue to co-exist in a peaceful manner befitting their status as big villages with traditional ties binding them together.

The District Administration and Police resolved to act firmly and take strong action against any individual/group indulging in acts of violence and committing acts which disrupt normal life and disturb the peace. It was also stated that all wrongdoers would be dealt with severely as per relevant provisions of the law.
