Wokha, November 1 (MExN): The farewell programme for Dr Zubenthung Kikon, Chief Medical Officer of Wokha, and Dr William Humtsoe, District Vector Borne Officer (DVBO), was held at the CMO Conference Hall in Wokha on October 30.
Chairing the programme, Dr Zuchamo Patton, DPO (HSS) Wokha, lauded the outgoing CMO for his contributions to the health sector during his tenure in government service.
In his farewell speech, Dr Kikon called upon the staff to strengthen their sense of oneness and responsibility in the workplace. He expressed appreciation for the arrangement of the programme in his and Dr. Humtsoe's honour.
Meanwhile, Dr N Mhonchan Kithan, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Wokha, stated that both retiring officers have achieved a great deal in their careers and wished them a happy retirement.
Dr Akum Jamir, DPO (CD-II), described the outgoing CMO as an unassuming, humble person who has successfully completed his tenure, mentioning his active involvement in various health programmes and activities during his government service.
Dr Caroline, SMO of Bhandari CHC, highlighted the attributes of the outgoing CMO and his constant support for the doctors in the outposts, who often face challenging situations.
Dr Aseno Rhetso, DPO (NCD), noted that due to the tactical and wise dealings of the outgoing CMO with the public, many unwanted situations were avoided, ensuring the smooth operation of the CMO office.
Short speeches were also made by Chibeni, Accountant; Lichumo Odyuo, DPO, DAPCU; Mhonbeni Ezung, DPM; and various medical officers and staff.
The event was attended by programme officers, medical officers, and staff from various health centres in the district, informed a press release from the CMO Office, Wokha.
