Wokha, July 2 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS received the lone lady rider Onenienla Imsong at DC office Chamber Wokha on July 2, who is on a ride across Nagaland to advocate on the issues of women empowerment .
Speaking on the occasion, Imsong said that her passion for riding the motorcycle was “to encourage the girls and the womenfolk to make them stand on their own feet.”
Imsong held that she wants to cover all the districts of the state and so far, she has covered 600 km approximately covering some of the districts like Kiphire, Tuensang, Mokokchung etc. This was stated in a press release issued by Wilson Odyuo, Volunteer, Riders Group Wokha.
The DC Wokha encouraged Imsong stating that “through her bold step in taking the task of riding bike, speaks and embolden women empowerment,” and wished her luck in her endeavors.
He presented a cap designed under ‘Beti Pachao, Beti Padao’ to Imsong.
Lothe Eloe representative, also speaking at the reception programme encouraged Imsong by saying that “her bold initiatives will be a role model for the young girls and to womenfolk in competing men.”
