Wokha detects five new COVID-19 positive cases

DC takes note of increasing number of social events

Wokha, December 8 (MExN): On detection of five COVID-19 positive cases in the district, the Wokha district Task Force (WDTF) held a review meeting at Deputy Commissioner Conference hall on December 8. 

A DIPR report stated that the meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Chairman WDTF for COVID-19, Orenthung Lotha. Addressing the DTF members, the DC said that Wokha was a green zone for some time but now contact tracing process has to be activated in order to avoid any surge in positive cases. 

Wokha DC further noted on the increasing number of social events such as weddings in Wokha town during the past few weeks. Organizers of such social events have to inform the district administration before hand with a list of all the attendees and follow the COVID-19 guidelines, he added. 

Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr CW Tungoe briefed the DTF members on the COVID-19 status in the district. He informed that the surveillance team is doing their part in contact tracing. District Hospital Wokha, Pathologist Dr Nzanthung stated that both TrueNat and Rapid Antigent test are available in the district for suspected cases.

Quarantine Officer Wokha Dr Mhonchan Kithan, informed that registration of returnees is still going on at Wokha Town Hall and so far none of the persons advised for home quarantine has any symptoms.
