
DIMAPUR, JULY 27 (MExN): Wokha district of Nagaland has been selected as one of the district which has done commendable work in Awareness Generation and Outreach Activities under Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) programme.
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a campaign of the Government of India that aims to generate awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare services intended for girls in India.
In this connection, the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MWCD), GoI has invited DC Wokha Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon to receive the award on August 7 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, as a representative of Wokha district.
A letter issued by Aastha Saxena Khatwani, joint secretary, MWCD to DC Wokha said the ministry has decided to felicitate the districts, states and UTs who have been performing well in respect of achieving the goals set by the BBBP.
The event is planned in the spirit of recognizing the outstanding work being done by all the stakeholders across India, the letter stated. WCD minister Smriti Irani would be present on the occasion to felicitate the selected states, districts and UTs.
