The Wokha Town Council held a culmination programme for the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign at the DC Conference Hall, celebrating community commitment to cleanliness and sanitation at DC Conference Hall on October 2.
The event was graced by Renbomo Ezung, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer of the Wokha Town Council as the special guest who emphasised the vital role of maintaining cleanliness for a healthier environment. He encouraged students and individuals to reinforce the idea that collective action is essential for sustainable change.
The programme was chaired by Nzano P Kikon, Councillor of Wokha Town Council, invocation by Nzanbeni Humtsoe, vote of thanks delivered by Orenyimo Odyuo, Sanitation Inspector, and a benediction by Tsenyani Odyuo, UDA, WTC.
In addition, the winners of the Swachhata Hi Seva activities competition were announced, recognising students for their outstanding contributions.
Essay Competition: Emme Z Kikon (Class 10, Santsuo School) – 1st; Mhavungi J Mozhui (Class 9, Perennial School) – 2nd.
Poetry Competition: Renchumi (Class 12, GHSS) – 1st; Zuyani R Humtsoe (Class 9, Isaiah Ability School) – 2nd; Echungbeni N Khuvung (Class 9, Grace School) – 3rd.
Painting & Poster Competition: Yansarhomo J Ezung (Class 9, Perennial School) – 1st; Freda I Tsopoe (Class 9, Libemo Memory School) – 2nd; Lichumlo R Odyuo (Class 9, Santsuo School) – 3rd
Waste to Art Competition: Rhuphen Thera (SHG Forest Colony)
Cleanliness Drive: Tsumang B (Ward 8)
Best sanitation workers were also recognised: Achumo Ovung (Labour), Chupa (Driver), and Pisali (Sweeper).
