Wokha District library web page was launched on May 22. Adela Moa, Director, Department of Art & Culture, Nagaland in the presence of N Thungchano, Additional Director of art & Culture, Directorate officers Zuthungo Yanthan, District Cultural Officer, Wokha and staff.
The library digitalisation initiative of the DCO was spearheaded by Ovungthung R Jungio ARO (Assistant Research Officer) Wokha.
A presentation on the web page demo was done by the ARO. The initiative presents a holistic way of managing library inventory by leveraging digital tools to build an online database of books, where all the books were assigned unique ID’s by using a method called “SECTOR TAG METHOD” framed by the ARO. The Method is borrowed from the concept of postal pin codes and how the six digits pin codes are used to identify the postal addresses. The unique id could be used to physically identify the location of the books in the library.
Director of Art & Culture lauded the initiative as a first of its kind and urged the Patrons to avail the facilities with utmost care.
