DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 (MExN): The Annual Sports meet 2013 of the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Wokha kick- started on March 5. Col. Ved Beniwal, CO, 17 Assam Rifles graced the Inaugural Day as Chief Guest. The colorful event began with the Inspection of different contingents by the Chief Guest followed by March past. Thereafter, the Chief Guest lighted the Olympic lamp.
The Chief Guest in his inaugural address stressed the importance of co-curricular activities in the school with special reference to games and sports. He pointed out that games and sports can impart important values such as co-operation, teamwork and spirit of competition besides discipline. He reminded the students that North East India is a power-house of Sports and urged the students to develop their sporting skills and contribute their share to nation building as useful citizens. He also gave away the medals to the Marathon race winners. The Annual Sports which is underway will conclude on March 9 with Apeni Kithan, Principal of Mt. Tiyi College Wokha as Chief Guest.
