WOKHA, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): The Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) convened on October 25 at the DC conference hall to address various important agendas, including land patta issuance for government departments.
Chairman of the DPDB and MLA Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe emphasized the urgency of resolving issues related to uncompensated land occupied by government offices. He called for immediate action to establish effective solutions, a DIPR report stated.
Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, who also serves as the vice chairman of the DPDB, encouraged members to apply for land pattas, noting that these would be issued only to departments without any legal complications.
During the meeting, Project Director of DRDA Wokha, Thungbemo Patton, launched the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) campaign, aimed at raising awareness at the village level about existing schemes and projects for economic development and social justice.
The board welcomed a proposal from the Sericulture Department to establish a common facility center, advising the department to prepare a detailed proposal. Additionally, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Wokha’s suggestion for a new sub-center at Saron Colony was approved.
A PowerPoint presentation by representatives from the YRO, PHED, and Electrical departments showcased departmental achievements and future plans. Following a suggestion from the YRO Wokha regarding aquatic sports at the Chubi bridge area, the Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur advised that working papers be submitted to identify funding sources.
Chairman Humtsoe also urged power officials to address power theft issues with seriousness and pledged to donate 50 LED lights to enhance lighting in certain areas of Wokha district. The Veterinary and Industries departments were tasked with presenting their activities at the next DPDB meeting.
