
DIMAPUR, JULY 19 (MExN): The Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) has granted approval for the LADP scheme for the year 2023-24 during the DPDB meeting held on July 18. The meeting was presided over by vice chairman & DC, Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan and chairman DPDB Wokha, & Advisor for Agriculture, MhathungYanthan, a DIPR report informed.
In his opening remarks, Mhathung Yanthan expressed his gratitude to the board members for their support in approving the LADP scheme. The board took a significant step in renaming Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Wokha to Mhondamo Kithan Memorial Government Higher Secondary School in memory of Lt. Mhondamo Kithan, the first graduate from the Lotha tribe, former Interim Body Member (IBM) and the first Minister of Education of Nagaland State.
The meeting witnessed the approval and forwarding of the opening of the new private school (Next Gen School) at Bhandari Town, Wokha. Additionally, a committee was constituted to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of district creation, with DC Wokha as the convenor and representatives from Lotha Officers Association, various civil societies, and district stakeholders as members.
The board also reviewed the development plans for four aspirational villages and recommended the registration of Alumni Associations for Mt Tiyi College and Bailey Baptist College, Wokha, for better engagement and support.
Later in the day, Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, along with MLA Mhonbemo Humtsoe, MLA Achumbemo Kikon and DC Wokha inspected the Office of the Principal Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Wokha.
