Wokha DPDB mulls on ‘No Work No Pay’ to dissuade non-performing employees

Wokha, August 10 (MExN): Advisor Mmhonlumo Kikon has suggested that all Head of Departments in Wokha district should ensure that ‘No Work No Pay’ is imposed against non-performing employees for better performance of government establishments in the district.

Kikon, who is the Advisor for Information Technology & Communication, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy, said this during the monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting on August 9, according to a DIPR report.

The meeting was presided by Chairman DPDB Wokha and Advisor for Law & Justice Dr Chumben Murry, and Kikon, along with Advisor for Horticulture & Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan attended the meeting.

The house, while deliberating on various roads projects sanctioned or submitted under R&B and National Highway, Executive Engineer (R&B) Wokha division, Baghty division apprised the board that the stretch of road under Baghty division 69% of roads is motorable where 31% of roads are non-motorable, and stated that the cause of non-motorable roads is due to absence of major schemes and works in the area. He also mentioned that the stretches from Bhandari to Yimpang village (PWD) roads were damaged mainly because of heavy logging and coal mining activities.

In this connection, Advisor Kikon requested the ADC Bhandari, District Forest Officer and EE (R&B) Baghty division to initiate investigation in regard to damage of roads and submit status report in the next meeting.

Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Education Committee Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan gave a presentation on the action plan for promotion of better HSLC result, and said the committee decided that the DPDB would adopt one school in each Assembly Constituency for close monitoring, convergent action and GAP funding.

As per the DIPR report, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Zuben Kikon highlighted about the status and attendance of Medical Officers and staff, staff position in the health facilities, status of equipments and diagnostics, utilization of ambulance and lack of technicians in the district.

In this regard, the District Administration was requested to verify the attendance of doctors, nurses and staff in all the health care centres.

Advisor Mhathung Yanthan stated that department should not allow doctors to be transferred or sent for study leave without replacement as public are suffering due to absence of MOs in the health care centres.

Supplementing Yanthan’s statement, Kikon also asked the Deputy Commissioner to write to the higher authority, stating that the District Administration would not give NOC as there are good numbers of doctors who have gone for study leave and their relievers are not yet filled or posted.

The board also approved the proposal for circular road covering 4 KM at Wokha town. Chairman DPDB Wokha asked the Agriculture, Horticulture, KVK and District Narcotic Cell to present their activities in the next Planning board meeting.
