Wokha Forest Division celebrated its foundation day at Forest Colony Community Hall, Wokha on July 9, marking the 40th anniversary of its creation in 1984. The event featured extensive highlights of the activities, successes, initiatives, and developmental interventions undertaken by the Wokha Forest Division in the district.
Representatives from the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Wokha Town Council, Lotha Eloe Hoho, FNGO Natural Nagas, and officers and staff from both the Wokha Forest Division and Doyang Plantation Division participated in the event.

In his welcome speech, Suman WM Sivachar, IFS, DFO Wokha Forest Division and Doyang Plantation, congratulated all the staff of the Wokha Forest Division on the occasion of the 40th Foundation Day. He highlighted the division's achievements and the hardships it has faced since its inception, lauding the staff for their tireless efforts and contributions to the department thus far. He also emphasised the significant benefits that could be achieved through collaborative coordination and participation from both the Lotha community and the department, and to provide full potential to work for the community.
Rajiv Shankar, IFS, ACF, Wokha, congratulated the officers and staff on their achievements on the 40th Foundation Day and encouraged them to continue their efforts for the betterment of the department and the district.
Thungbeni, President of Eloe Hoho extended her congratulations to the department, urging the DFO and his team to continue their excellent work for the community.
Mhao Ngullie, Councillor of Wokha Town Council, praised the Wokha Forest Division for its efforts in the district and the Lotha community in particular. He stressed the importance of working together with the department to provide the best benefits to the community.
The Wokha Forest Division also organised a pipping ceremony for promoted staff members: Myinthungo Yanthan, Forester-1; Yihamo Ngullie, Forester-1; and Lanuakum Ao, Forester-1. Myinthungo Yanthan, Forester-1; Abeno Ovung, Planning and Livelihood Expert, Wokha DMU; and Mhonchumo Tungoe, retired peon, were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the department.
Retired officers and staff, including Wopansao Patton, retired Range Forest Officer, and Liremo Kithan, Forester-2, were acknowledged for their significant service. Late Imsenwapang, Deputy Range Forest Officer, and Late Kethotsol, Forester-2, who had passed away recently, were also remembered.
A cake-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the 40th Foundation Day of the Wokha Forest Division. The programme was chaired by Elithung Odyuo, ACF, In-Charge of Baghty Range, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Siechutho Katiry, ACF cum ADMU, Merapani Range.
