Wokha ICPS emphasize on raising more awareness

Wokha, February 19 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Vyasan R has said that every child has a right to get protection, care and love. He asserted this while raising issues pertaining to child rights and problems seen in rural areas during a coordination meeting of different functionaries of Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) in Wokha. Delivering his keynote address during the meeting initiated by the Office of the Superintendent, Observation Home Wokha, the DC urged the participants to dedicate and work sincerely in order to justify the cause that ICPS is heading towards.  

A press release from Observation Home informed that Wobenthung Patton, superintendent, Observation Home welcomed the participants and briefed about its office, purpose and shared hurdles of children in the society. He stressed on the need to have children's home in Wokha because juveniles in contact with laws cannot be sent to Observation Home, but has to be taken care by CWC (Child Welfare Committee).

Wokha CWC Chairman, K.C. Murry emphasized on creating mass awareness among different stakeholders, so that the objectives and goals set forth by ICPS are achieved. He observed that many fail to access the facilities being provided as they are unaware. He urged the district administration and Police forces mainly to assist and work hand in hand.
Various representatives of CWC, DCPU, SJPU, Observation Home also raised similar issues and emphasized on striving hard to increase the level of awareness among common people, as its project is at its initial stage.

The meeting resolved to conduct awareness programs in all schools, both private and government in Wokha district by Observation Home and District Child Protection Unit, Wokha. Altogether 24 people participated in the meeting.
