Wokha identified as High Focused District for TB intensified campaign

WOKHA, DECEMBER 6 (MExN): As a run up to the 100 Days Intensified Campaign on TB Elimination, the National TB Elimination programme Wokha organised a one day sensitization cum awareness training for health workers at Chief Medical Officer’s Conference Hall, Wokha on December 6. 

Resource person for the training, Dr Akum Jamir, District TB Officer Wokha, informed that Wokha has been identified as a High Focused District for a 100 Days Intensified Campaign on TB Elimination from December 7, 2024 to March 17, 2025. 

He further said the objective of this campaign is to accelerate tuberculosis case detection, reduce mortality and prevent new cases through focused intervention in districts with the highest TB burden in a stratified approach.

During the training, topics screening and preventive treatment for vulnerable population, elimination of TB by 2024 etc. were taken. The health workers were informed to conduct sensitization and awareness activities at their respective areas in the district during the campaign period. The training was attended by CHOs, ANMs, BPMs, UPHC Consultant, DCM and Block ASHA Co-ordinators.
