Wokha, April 13 (MExN): Two-day Wokha District Inter-Departmental Badminton and Table Tennis Open championship 2022 organized by Wokha District Sports Council in collaboration with Wokha District Badminton Association (WDBA) and Wokha District Table Tennis Association started on April 13 at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Wokha.
A DIPR report stated that MLA, Dr Chumben Murry graced the opening ceremony as the special guest. Dr Murry encouraged young people to take up sports as a profession as the Central Government as well as the State government is taking a keen interest in building up the capacity for the sportspersons. While wishing the participants, he urged all the participants to take part in the tournament in the true spirit of the game and declared the championship open.
The function was chaired by DSO Wokha, K Libemo Jami, while President WDBA Dr Jonsuthung Kithan delivered the welcome address, and PIS, DSO Wokha administered the oath-taking.
