WOKHA, JULY 16 (MExN): The Wokha police on July 14 arrested one woman for circulating “fake news/rumors” on social media.
According to a DIPR release, the accused was arrested after she allegedly uploaded and shared “very disturbing pictures and voice message” about a person/patient developing serious health condition after COVID-19 vaccination. The message went viral, while “confusing many people because of her negative comment/picture about COVID-19 Vaccine,” the release said, while adding that the police investigation confirmed that the news not related to COVID-19 vaccination. The DIPR release further quoted Wokha ADC Lankonsen Tsanglao appealing the public “to restrain from spreading fake and unconfirmed news and urged the general public to forward any details/information to District Helpline Number-9863663885 for any query and verification.”
