Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): Following the storm over Wokha PM’s package issue, the Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) has dismissed its General Secretary Nzanthung K Yanthan, from office with immediate effect for what the union termed was for breach of the union’s constitution.
The grounds was that Yanthan issued a press release against the decision of the executive on the current PM’s Package issue dated May 31 in local dailies terming the Union’s demand as ‘irrational and irrelevant’ and with ‘vested interests’. The decision was taken at an emergency Executive Council meeting held on June 3.
In a joint press release issued by the President, Michael B Lotha and Seasonal Secretary, Chumthungo Humtsoe, the LSU while affirming protecting the interest of the common people suspended Yanthan from the primary membership of the organization for a period of 12 months with immediate effect.
